These terms summarize how the ProServices Partners marketplace works. By using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Questions: proservicespartners1@gmail.com.
1. Our role
ProServices Partners is a marketplace that connects customers with independent service professionals. Professionals are not our employees or agents. Each professional is responsible for their work, pricing, permits, and any license or insurance their trade requires.
We review professional applications before profiles are listed. Approval means ProServices accepted the application. It does not mean we independently verified a license, insurance, certification or the quality of work unless a profile states otherwise. Customers should confirm credentials that matter to their project.
2. Quotes and booking
- Professionals send quotes with a total price and, where required, a deposit amount.
- A job is booked when the customer accepts a quote. Once accepted, the quoted total and deposit are locked.
- A professional cannot start a job that requires a deposit until Stripe confirms the deposit payment.
3. Payments
- Payments are processed by Stripe. ProServices does not store full card numbers.
- The deposit is paid after the quote is accepted. The remaining balance becomes payable after the professional marks the job complete and the customer confirms completion.
- A payment counts as paid only after Stripe confirms it to ProServices. Returning from a checkout page does not by itself mark anything as paid.
- ProServices keeps a platform fee of 10% of each payment. The fee is included in the quoted total, not added on top.
- ProServices collects customer payments and sends the professional's share through Stripe after the customer confirms the job is complete and the professional's payout account is enabled by Stripe. This is not an escrow service.
4. Cancellations
- A customer may cancel a request at any time before a deposit has been paid, with no charge.
- After a deposit is paid, cancellations are handled as a request through the job's “Report a problem” option. ProServices reviews the request with both parties.
5. Refunds and disputes
- Customers or professionals can open a refund request or dispute from the job. ProServices reviews disputes and decides refunds case by case, considering the work performed and the information both parties provide.
- Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Card refunds usually take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on the bank.
- Refunds reduce the professional's share and the ProServices fee proportionally.
- If a refund is issued after a professional was already paid, the over-paid share is recorded as a balance owed by the professional and deducted from their future payouts, with an audit record, as permitted by the professional agreement and applicable law. Amounts that cannot be recovered this way are flagged for manual resolution.
6. No Unauthorized Scope Changes and No Circumvention
Customers. Customers must not directly request, negotiate or authorize additional work, extra services or changes to the agreed scope of work with a professional outside the ProServices platform. All additions, modifications, upgrades or extensions to an active job must be submitted through ProServices and approved through the platform before the additional work begins.
Professionals. Professionals must not solicit, accept, negotiate or perform additional work for a customer with an active ProServices job outside the platform unless (a) the additional work has been submitted and approved through ProServices, or (b) the original job has been formally completed, all required customer confirmations have been recorded, and ProServices' policies permit the later engagement. Professionals must not use a customer's contact details, project information or an existing platform relationship to bypass ProServices' booking, approval, fee, payment or dispute-resolution procedures.
Approval and documentation. Every scope change must be documented on the platform, including the revised description of work, agreed price, schedule and any applicable platform fee. Both parties must be able to review the change and record their acceptance before the additional work begins.
Fair enforcement. ProServices keeps records of reported violations. Before taking action, we notify the affected customer or professional of the allegation and give them a reasonable opportunity to respond. Following that investigation, we may restrict, suspend or permanently close the account involved. Any action will be proportionate and consistent with applicable consumer protection, contract and other laws.
Compensation. ProServices does not charge automatic or fixed fines. If a violation causes ProServices documented losses or costs (for example, platform fees avoided on off-platform work), ProServices may seek reasonable compensation limited to those documented amounts, only where permitted by applicable law. No such amount is charged to any payment method without separate notice to the user and an opportunity to dispute it.
7. Reviews and conduct
Customers may review a professional after a completed, confirmed job. Reviews must be honest and lawful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, misuse the marketplace or put others at risk.
8. Liability and changes
To the extent permitted by law, ProServices is not liable for the work, conduct or omissions of independent professionals. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law in the United States or Jamaica. We may update these terms; the effective date above shows the current version. When the terms change materially, signed-in users are asked to accept the new version before continuing.
